Greedy genius™

Twice a year we descend on Las Vegas for the semi-annual fashion tradeshow season.

It’s the where all the real players in the industry come to showcase their latest collections to the who’s who of the retail world.  Depending on what type of brand you have will determine what show is most suitable for you.  Considering there are 5+ shows at the same time you have to choose wisely so you can lock in with your target retailers and don’t waste your money.

First you have The Project Show which is for the high end brands, then you have Magic which is for anyone ranging from swap meet tshirt noname brand to major brand sold in every major Department store. The S.L.A.T.E show is for all the cool guys, indi street/skate brands, The Pool Show is for the other type of cool guy thats less street and more electro.  Anyways there are a bunch of other off shoot shows but these are the most important and they’re all being held at MANDALAY BAY Convention Center.

Also a lot of people show from private penthouse suite’s in the Mandalay Bay like we are this year.  We do this for a couple of reasons, 1. So any and everyone can’t see your whole collection ie: bootleggers, copy cats ect. 2. You can invite your customers up and show in a private setting 3. It’s more controlled and relaxed environment 4. Because we wanted to be different 5. Just cuz.

In our world which holds personal aesthetic above most things, modeling is one of the most difficult fields to make a name in. High end clothing manufacturers are in a perpetual need for a new face of their lines that will bring new concepts to the forefront. One of the rare individuals whom was able to float to the top is 18 year old Karlie Kloss. Coming from a average life in none other than St. Louis, Kloss was discovered at the age of 13 and by the time she reached 18 had covers, campaigns, and runway gigs with designers such as Karl Lagerfled, Versace, Gucci, Valentino, and more under her belt. What could make her story any more impressive? Her manager at Mother Model Management is a friend of ours here at Greedy. Peep his t-shirt in this photo snapped in Paris. Bun B’s newest release TRILL O.G. is available today. After listening to it I think it’s some of the best material ever from Bun. I found out yesterday that it’s up for 5 Mic’s in The Source magazine. If you get a chance cop that today and take a listen yourself.

GREEDY GENIU$ presents….

Get Fresh Friday is the newest edition to our blog, based on the popular street-wear concept “what did you wear today?” Show us how you rock your Greedy Genius sneakers through a photo submission displaying your outfit. From the photos received throughout the month, the person with the steeziest submission will be treated to an exclusive Greedy Genius prize bundle. The winner will be announced on the fourth Friday of every month and their submission will be posted on the Greedy Genius blog.

Requirements:

1.    Full body photo required.
Submissions that fail to display at least head-to-knees or neck-to-toe will not be considered.

2.    Outfits must be unobstructed, clearly visible and free from unnecessary distractions. If an outfit is partially obstructed from view or not fully and cleary visible for any reason it will not be considered.

3.    Only one look per photo entry.
Photos that display more than one person or multiple outfits will not be considered.

4.    Maximum of two views of the outfit.
Front/Back view entries are allowed (and preferred) but entries must contain no more than 2 separately combined images.

5.    Please do not submit photos that are not your property.
Users who submit photos they do not own the rights to will not be considered.

6.  Submit all photo’s to kingofsneakers@greedygenius.com
